 Allergen reduction,
                            what does it mean??

One of the most important things to know about allergens is that they are
not an all or nothing issue.  The number and strength of your allergic
reactions is decided by how sensitive you are and by the allergen load you
are exposed to.

All of us have the capacity to tolerate some level of allergens.
Think of a glass you keep pouring into, until at some moment it overflows.
The size of the glass depends on how sensitive you are, how much is flowing
into it depends on the allergen load surrounding you, and the moment when
the glass overflows, is when allergic symptoms appear.

By controlling your environment and keeping the level of allergens below
your "glass size" you can reduce the frequency and strength of your
reactions.

The great news is that you don't need to eliminate allergens from your
surroundings, something which is practically impossible, it is often enough
to just reduce their levels.  Reducing allergen loads is possible, sometimes
even easy, and in many cases can offer sufferers significant benefits.

The other techniques used in dealing with allergies are medication and
immunotherapy.  While both are invaluable to the acute sufferer, avoiding
allergens is the simplest and least expensive of the three, and offers the
added benefit of reducing the need for taking medicine.
