Allergies and asthma are serious medical conditions, and if you suffer, or suspect that you suffer from them, you should consult with a medical specialist.  We are not doctors and do not claim to be able to cure any diseases. The information provided in this site is collected from public sources.  Do not use this information to make any decision which will affect your health, without previously consulting a suitably qualified medical specialist.

Our approach is preventive and is based on allergen avoidance. Avoiding allergens is the simplest and least expensive way of dealing with allergies, and offers the added bonus of reducing the need for taking medicine.

"Three basic therapeutic techniques should be considered in treating either seasonal or perennial allergic rhinitis: avoidance of the offending allergens, use of appropriate drugs, and immunotherapy (injection treatments to effect hyposensitization or desensitization). When feasible, avoidance is the preferred form of treatment, since it both relieves symptoms and eradicates the cause of the difficulty."

The various services we offer will not eradicate allergens in your home.  This is not feasible and in most cases not necessary. What we can do is work with you to identify and measure allergens in your home, substantially reduce allergen loads, and take steps to maintain the reduction.  The effects of allergens are closely related to their loads, and therefore a reduction in allergen level and concentration can lead to reduction in frequency and severity of symptoms.

Scientists at the National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences (NIEHS) in collaboration with investigators at Harvard University conducted in 2000 The First National Allergen Survey.  In presenting the study they said:

"For people who are not allergic to these allergens, steps to reduce exposure may reduce the chance of developing allergies and asthma.  For those who are already allergic and/or asthmatic, steps to reduce exposure may decrease the severity of the symptoms of these diseases."
